How the city works

  1. A residential street at dusk: a small shack, houses and an apartment block with lit windows

    Build flats, rent them out.

    Put up an apartment block and let other players move in. Their rent is your income.

  2. Shelves stocked with the city's goods: grain, flour, bread, metal ingots, planks, timber, stone, ore, coal, medicine, furniture, building blocks and machinery

    Trade on a real market.

    Every good in the city, from grain to machinery, at prices set by the players who buy and sell it. What players don't buy, the port ship does.

  3. City Hall on the town square, with homes, market stalls and lit street lamps around it

    Run City Hall.

    Stand for mayor, win the vote, and decide where the treasury goes.

A free PBBG, short for persistent browser-based game: one shared city that keeps running in your browser between visits. Players own the homes, trade the goods on the market and elect the mayor.

Hex tiles, resources and trading with other players will feel familiar. But the city never resets: no turns, no dice, it keeps running between your visits.
